What would you love to have 52 of?
Okay. I should be more specific. What 50 non-material things would you love to have?
Professional contacts, books read, rehearsed jokes, stories to share, pages written in your memoir, blog posts, beautiful pictures, sketches, tried and tasted new recipes?
You know, those “someday” things that are both useful and enriching. They’re the things that require us to move ourselves to do something more than click “add to cart.”
I wanted my little blog here to have 50 question prompt posts in a year. I missed a day earlier this month because I was sooooooo busy. Waah. Poor me, blah, blah, blah.
Underneath that is the truth that I’m feeling scattered across several projects, clients, and all the fun but chaotic stuff that comes with it being September and having three kids back in school and sports. Yes, there was a lot going on. Big chunks of my day felt out of my control (something I HATE!)
But the truth is that, under stress, I put urgent before important.
Another truth (for me) is that it’s harder to come back after missing two whatevers (classes, networking events, seminars, book club meetings, etc.) So, I’m back at it- putting “done” before “done perfectly.”
I marvel at how things add up. Accumulation works to our advantage when show up and do the work. For example, a page written each day is a 365-page book at the end of the year.
What would you like to have 52 of this time next year? Here are just a few to get you going…
Virtual coffees scheduled and sipped
Thank you notes written
Books read (or skimmed)
Items donated or recycled
Excel tricks-learned
And on and on…
