What conversation, if started today, could create new possibilities?

Last week I had the chance to listen to another coach and speaker guide a team through a well-executed leadership exercise. Even over Zoom, I could feel their attentive energy. He “had” them. The simplicity of his message resonated.

Leaders lead one conversation at a time.

Often what we admire in good leaders (and look to emulate) are their results. We see the strategy, ability to motivate the masses, and persistence under pressure. Meanwhile, we overlook how they got there- one thoughtful and intentional conversation at a time.

Expanding the circle, we find it holds true for all of us regardless of title and position. Much of what we pursue and ultimately accomplish is done one conversation at a time.

Thinking about where you are now and where you want to go, here’s today’s journal prompt.*

What conversation, if started today, could create new possibilities?

“START WHERE YOU ARE. USE WHAT YOU HAVE. DO WHAT YOU CAN.”- ARTHUR ASHE

*A journal prompt is simply a question to consider when you want to pause and reflect. It’s fascinating to see what comes out on the page. In writing for yourself, there are no rules, no special notebooks needed, or minimal time required. Do only what works for you.
