What’s one thing you remember loving about summer as a kid?
This is a short (but important) week after the long Memorial Day weekend. It’s important because it’s the turning of a season and one of those opportunities to reflect and be more intentional about what we think and do with the time.
It’s the first week of summer!
So, today’s journal prompt* is this:
What’s one thing you remember loving about summer as a kid?
Was it dousing your hair with Sun-in, then slip-sliding outside covered in baby oil to “layout” before retreating to the basement for 3 solid hours of soap operas with a bag of popcorn? Okay, maybe that was just me.
Was getting to get something from the ice cream truck, freely roaming the neighborhood in a mini-biker gang of kids, or crushing your summer reading list without the distractions of long division in your head?
There’s surely something or a lot of things. Pick one or two. Then ask yourself this follow-up question:
How might I do that thing (or the adult equivalent) this summer?
I’d love to hear what comes up for you.
Let’s lighten up and have a little fun on purpose!
